Staff mobility in the field of sport (KA182)

What is it?

Support for the development of grassroots sport organisations (physical leisure activities regularly practised at non-professional level by people of all ages for health, educational or social purposes) and amateur sport organisations by offering their staff, both paid and voluntary, the opportunity to spend a period of time abroad in order to reinforce and enhance their professional development and skills.

Aims

To promote sport as a key element in the promotion of healthy lifestyles and in strengthening social inclusion and equality.

To create European networks of coaches and sports staff.

To give sport a European dimension through the promotion of common values, integrity, sustainable development and all the skills that physical activity fosters.

Build the skills of grassroots organisations and improve the knowledge and technical skills of sports personnel.

Characteristics

There are two modalities:

  • Shadowing and shadowing periods: participants can spend from two to fourteen days in a host organisation in another country with the aim of learning new practices and gathering new ideas through interaction with peers, mentors, volunteers or other staff members in their daily work in the organisation.
  • Mentoring or training placements: participants can spend fifteen to sixty days mentoring or training in a host organisation in another country as a way of learning by doing and exchanging with peers.

Applicant organisations:

  • Public or private organisations active in the field of sport and physical activity and organising grassroots and amateur sport and physical activities.
  • Non-grassroots sports organisations if the participation of their staff benefits grassroots sports.

Participants:

Maximum of 10 participants per project

  • Coaches and other sports staff of grassroots or amateur sports organisations.
  • Non-grassroots sport personnel, including those with dual careers and non-sporting careers, where the participation of such personnel may benefit grassroots sport.
  • Volunteers (other than coaches) in sports organisations.

Participants must work for or regularly work with the sending organisation and reside in the country of their sending organisation and cannot participate as athletes.
