The European Commission has launched the 2024 call for proposals for the European Solidarity Corps as well as the guide governing the management of the programme. For this coming year, the European Union will have a budget of 145 million euros to support young people from across the EU and beyond who wish to take part in solidarity activities. The areas covered range from social inclusion actions to helping people with fewer opportunities, contributing to green and digital transitions and democratic participation, and also addressing challenges relatedto health.To mitigate the effect of inflation, the amounts of support for both organisations and participants have been increased.The deadlines for submitting volunteering projects or solidarity projects in 2024 are: 20 February and 1 October.Organisations that do not have the Quality Label and wish to submit projects in the first round must apply for the label by 31 December 2023.For 2024 the Spanish National Agency highlights, of the European priorities, the following for its national scope:Mental health: mental health in the young population.Rural Youth: creating better opportunities for young people in rural areas.IMPORTANT: In the round ending on 20 February, grants will be awarded for 90% of the available budget for Volunteering Projects and 80% for Solidarity Projects, leaving 10% and 20%, respectively, for the round ending on 1 October.
